Ella’s Nursery

roompic20Welcome to Ella’s nursery!  When I first found out I was pregnant I had an overload of ideas.  I wasn’t sure if I wanted a super girly pink room or if I wanted to keep it fresh and easy to update in the future.  I think I resulted in a good mixture of both.  This room already had the wainscoting from the previous owner.  We thought it was cute and decided to keep it.  We did however paint the wall color from a yellowy creme to this grey.  I had such a hard time picking the right grey.  I didn’t want any undertones and just wanted a true grey.  I jumped the gun and painted the room out of being impatient and it resulted in the walls having a slight hint of blue in it.  I went back and forth if I should repaint it but in the end, my husband said just stick with it.  And so I did.
We repurposed the armoire I’ve had since high school.  It was previously a distressed creme which made it look outdated.  So I repainted it white and took off the doors to create a changing table.  I recently switched out the changing pad to hold Ella’s accessories.  It also displays some my favorite treasures of hers.

I was introduced to Young Living essential oils by a neighbor and so far am loving it.  I diffuse thieves in her room to help keep those nasty colds away.  Another favorite is lavender at night.

Oh hello baby girl.

I think the mobile is what makes her room.  I am so in love with it.  Lance came home with these antlers from a friend.  I didn’t know what to do with them for the longest time.  I had seen tassels that hung from a branch before, so I thought I would put my spin on it and use the antlers.  I made the tassels out of plastic table cloths.  I decided to use the table cloths over tissue paper because I thought they would wear over time better.  And to me, they would be easier to dust.  I’m not afraid of ripping them.  Here is a great tutorial on how to make tassels here.  Once my tassels were made, I spaced them and attached them with string to the antler.  Once they were all in place I hung the mobile to the ceiling with screw in hooks.  Voila!

roompic18Crew loves his sister.  I love seeing her smile up at him.  She gets so excited and squeals.  Melts my heart every time.
roompic19Crew looks so big to me here.  I have to coax him to smile now.  This is as good as we are gonna get.

roompic17Hope you enjoyed her nursery tour.  I still want add a few more things in it.  Hooks, maybe a gallery wall with the deer head, and I really want to paint her door.
Her closet is another story.  Will have a detailed look into her wardrobe soon.  Xo
